Why poetry?

Poetry is no trivial pursuit—as I learned at the beginning of a pandemic.

It’s lyrical and musical and deep and wide. It’s an unending source of combinating connection. It’s random writing from thoughtful prompts that turns into sweeping swaths of being swept up into joy and belonging through the sacred portal of Zoom week after week. Even before we all took an unscheduled break from endless expectations of extroversion. It was exactly what I needed to write into the middle of my life.

This is my first multi-author writing excursion and will not be my last book. The poems are multiplying even as we speak.
